We help individuals find meaningful volunteer opportunities and help the organizations they work with recognize their outstanding volunteer service. Each year, we recognize the community’s most outstanding volunteers at our Affair of the Heart Gala and Silent Auction. Over 500 guests join us each spring as we present volunteer service awards in six categories, award scholarships to college-bound volunteers and educate the community about the many dedicated individuals working quietly in our midst.

Many businesses and individuals join our celebration of volunteers making a difference through sponsorship and advertising for the Affair of the Heart Gala & Silent Auction. Sponsors have included the Prince George’s County Office of the County Executive, Lockheed Martin, PEPCO, Southern Management Corporation, Comcast, Doctors Community Hospital, Enlightened, Inc., Crescent City Jaycees Foundation, and Prince George's Councilman Samuel H. Dean and many more.

Celebrating the Call to Serve, the 2009 Affair of the Heart Gala and Silent Auction will be held on Friday April 17, 2009 at the University of Maryland University College Inn and Conference Center by Marriott in Adelphi at 7:00 pm.  Join us as we celebrate over 25 years of mobilizing and recognizing volunteers.
